Jackie Somadelis

Jackie Somadelis is the CEO/Founder of SomaGroup, LLC – providing advanced consulting services; specializing in sterilization and sterility assurance. She has over 15 years of expertise in terminal sterilization, packaging, manufacturing of medical devices, pharmaceuticals and consumer products. She has experience across all major as well as more novel sterilization processes alike; including radiation (E-Beam, X-Ray, Gamma) and gas (Ethylene Oxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, VHP, Dry Heat, Steam/Moist Heat).

 

Jackie has managed and lead the installation and qualification of three (3) different radiation systems (E-Beam and X-Ray) as well as several Ethylene Oxide gas chamber and benchtop unit systems. She is a collaborative, adaptable and diligent subject matter expert in a wide range of experiences from sterilization engineering and equipment to sterility assurance and microbiology.

 

Jackie holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), ASTM E61 Radiation Committee, The Irradiation Panel, and the International Irradiation Association (IIA).
