Derek Prince, Ph.D
Derek began his professional career in 2013 working at Gibraltar Laboratories. Derek started in the laboratory, where he performed various tests on sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical and healthcare-related medical devices and products. Derek has experience performing and developing procedures and tests for a variety of microbiology and molecular biology test services, including rapid methods.
In 2018, Derek formally departed Gibraltar to lead Prince Sterilization Services as the President. At Prince, Derek leads a high-performing team and fosters a quality-minded, performance-focused, safe, and friendly work environment. Derek is a subject matter expert in microbiology and sterilization science. Derek is a member of two Kilmer Collaboration sterilization workstream groups focused on Parametric Release and VH2O2 sterilization and a member of DCAT’s Science & Scholarship committee.
Derek has a bachelor’s degree in biology, a master's degree in microbiology, and a Ph.D. in microbiology from Rutgers University.
